The tour is coming to a close. We have six more days left and I must say it has been an amazing experience. I know sinse my last blog a lot has happened and I am sorry but it has been hard to find wireless internet. If you read my last blog I am very sorry to announce that I never had the chance to lay a show in a truckers shower. I'm sure the sound would be great and the turn out would be phenomenal but it just never came together, I am really sorry to all of the fans who bought tickets to this show.

I would love to highlight a few great moments from the tour for this blog. I must say again that Tony and Josh are both amazing artists. I have had the opportunity to have Tony sit in on "No Regrets" a few times and there are some great youtube videos for your viewing pleasure. It has also been great to sit in on Tony's "Pretty Things" that is also somewhere on youtube. There is also a new tune Tony and I wrote in the hotel in Philadelphia and I am hoping to cut it for the record. I will save the actual show experiences for the last blog and highlight the great times we have had in every city. It is sad to see it come to a close but will also be great to get home for the holidays.

Lessons

I've learned a few quick things from the last couple weeks on the road. So after a few weeks I have come to absolutely hate Subway sandwiches. Before we got out here I had an absolute inffatuation with a six foot whole grain turkey, provolone, light mayo, salt and pepper, vinegar, and lettuce, now just the thought of it makes me gag. You know that feeling when your mouth waters up and you fumble around for some water which only makes it worse so you run to the bathroom. Well after 25 subway sandwiches in over the last week or so, I almost found myself running into a truck stop shower to take care of this business. I am sure these showers smell absolutely wonderful and I can only imagine the beautiful mess that occur in those havens. I just called a truck stop shower a haven! Everytime I see the sign I am tempted to just open the door and take a look in, I will do that this week and get back to you. After the last trip to Subway I decided it might just be easy to not eat the same sandwich every night but switch it up! Maybe it's just the thought of the same freakin sandwich that makes me gag. I'll try that. I know this has nothing to do with the amazing music happening out here but I decided I would speak about my newly found bodily functions. The road has made me understand my body just a tiny bit better, and I have discovered a newly found inffatuation with trucker showers. I think next week I will check out a truck stop shower. Just to say I have, I will bring my guitar in there and play while the truckers shower. I hope they are not communal!

Week 1

I have to say first off this has been nothing short of amazing. We started in Nashville and it was great to meet up with Josh Hoge and Tony Lucca the night before the show, it was the first time meeting them and I knew it would be a great run. 3rd and Lindsley was a great venue and Josh's hometown crowd was ready to roll. I gotta say meeting Will, Josh's brother was a treat as I have been a huge fan of his for a long time. Tony Lucca is probably the best pure artist I have had the chance to share the stage with and it is incredible to watch him every night. We have now played six shows and it has been pretty great meeting new fans every night, especially music-lovers who appreciate what we are doing. I will get much more in depth the next time I get to wi-fi but as I am writing my first blog it is 2am in Charlotte, NC. Tony just showed me pics of Chicago because I told him I had never been there, well not really a pic of Chicago but of a bar with shot glasses lined up on it. CAN'T WAIT to keep on meeting everyone! I must say I almost just passed out and hit my head on the keyboard. Time for some sleep, I will be back at this real soon. More details are needed I know. Love you all.

About Matt

Matt Lowell’s perfect combination of singer/songwriter and soulful rock sounds, will set his “Second Storm EP” apart from the new generation of attention grabbing musicians. Matt is set to release his “Second Storm EP” this fall. This compilation of tunes co-written and produced by Crit Harmon, winner of 2008 Boston Music Awards producer of the year, for his work with Martin Sexton, is Matt’s second time working with Crit.

Matt’s first EP, First Taste, had songs featured in TV shows such as Real World Brooklyn, ESPN, and the Everwood DVD. In the winter of ‘07 Matt completed his debut album, “Dixie Land”, recorded and produced in Nashville. And set out on his first full-length tour, including Prep Schools, popular venues in NYC and Connecticut, and headlined a three week leg of Camplified, and ended with ski resorts throughout the North East. Selling over 1,500 copies of his newly released album.

After graduating Berklee College of Music and completing the First Taste EP Matt began his ’08 -’09 tour of over 55 shows, at popular venues such as BB Kings, Blender Theatre, Highline Ballroom and Irving Plaza opening for well known acts as Eve6, Jeffrey Gaines, Martin Sexton, Marcy Playground, Val Emmich, Will Dailey, and others. This led to a live performance on Fox TV Boston where Matt received raved reviews for his performance of a new song “Kicking Around”.

His sold out show at the Living Room completed the end of this highly successful tour. Matt’s unique blend of gripping lyrics, his magnetic live performances and sensational touch on the guitar have made others compare him to Dave Matthews, John Mayer and Paul Simon alike.
